This course will be divided into two main phases:
Phase 1: Foundational Skills (Month 1)
Module 1: Introduction to Illustrator
Interface overview and workspace customization
Understanding vector graphics vs. raster graphics
File formats and saving option
Module 2: Drawing Basics
Using basic shapes (Rectangle, Ellipse, Polygon, etc.)
The Pen tool: creating paths and shapes with precision
Modifying paths: anchor points, direction points, and handles
Shape manipulation tools: Combine, Exclude, Intersect, etc.
Module 3: Working with Color
Color theory: understanding color basics, applying color models (RGB, CMYK)
Creating and editing fills and strokes
Applying gradients and patterns
Managing colors with Swatches panel
Module 4: Text and Typography
Working with the Type tool: creating and editing text objects
Character and paragraph styles for consistent formatting
Text formatting options: leading, kerning, tracking, etc.
Integrating text with paths and shapes
Module 5: Layers and Organization
Understanding layers and their importance in design
Creating, managing, and arranging layers
Grouping and locking objects for better organization
Using layer masks for selective edits
Phase 2: Advanced Techniques and Projects (Month 2)
Module 6: Effects and Filters
Applying pre-set effects for visual enhancements
Creating custom effects with Illustrator’s effects panel
Understanding and using blending modes
Module 7: Brushes and Live Painting
Working with the Brush tool: creating custom brushes and patterns
Live Paint tool: coloring and editing complex shapes intuitively
