SYLLABUS

Overall Goal: To equip students with a comprehensive understanding of graphic design techniques and prepare them for professional careers in the industry.

This course will be divided into three main phases:

Phase 1: Advanced Editing Techniques (Month 1)

Module 1: Refining Storytelling

  • Deep dive into editing theory: shot types, continuity editing, montage theory.
  • Exploring advanced editing techniques: J-cuts, L-cuts, jump cuts, cutaway shots.
  • Applying storytelling principles through editing: pacing, rhythm, building suspense.

Module 2: Color Grading and Correction

  • Understanding color theory and its impact on mood and emotions.
  • Advanced color grading techniques: primary and secondary color correction, color balancing.
  • Using color grading tools to create specific looks and styles (cinematic, documentary, etc.).

Module 3: Audio Editing and Mixing

  • Advanced audio editing techniques: dialogue cleaning, noise reduction, Foley sound.
  • Mixing strategies: creating depth and balance with multiple audio tracks.
  • Using sound design to enhance emotional impact and storytelling.

Phase 2: Motion Graphics and VFX (Month 2)

  • A Computer with recommended Intel i7 CPU, 16GB RAM and 8GB Graphics Card configuration.
  • Internet Connection with recommended 60Mbps to 100 Mbps speed.
  • One Webcam.
